Say hello to a timeless home created for a horse-loving family.

Nestled among the rolling hills and paddocks of horse country north of Brisbane, The American Farmhouse was already a beautiful new build. Elska Interiors’ role was to add the layers of warmth, character and personality that would allow it to feel truly lived in and deeply connected to the family who calls it home.

Rich chocolate timber floors are softened by rugs in gentle shades of green and cream, while aged leather, relaxed linen, natural stone and weathered timber bring an unmistakable sense of country living. Repeating tones of green and duck egg blue create a gentle, cohesive colour palette, chosen to complement the depth of the timber floors and the warmth of the aged brass fixtures throughout. Traditional detailing and carefully selected furnishings add quiet elegance without losing the home’s welcoming, unpretentious spirit.

One of the most meaningful elements was guiding the restoration of a dining table handcrafted by the client’s father. It was an absolute privilege to help preserve such an important family piece, ensuring it can continue to gather loved ones around it for another hundred years.
